Ruby Tumbles
Cambodian rubies are predominantly found in Pailin province but also occur in Battambang, Ratanakiri, and Mondulkiri provinces. These rubies are famous for their deep red "Pigeon's Blood" color, symbolizing both beauty and resilience. The most intense mining activities occurred between the 1960s and 1990s, coinciding with Myanmar's political instability, making their ruby deposits inaccessible. Despite the extreme dangers, including the presence of landmines, miners risked their lives to extract these precious gems.
While these ruby tumbles are sourced from India, each purchase helps empower the Khmer people to advocate for themselves and take charge of their future. Your support helps provide them with the tools and opportunities to stand up and speak out, especially during this increasingly repressive time.
