SEND A LETTER

Now that you have signed the Khmer Community Advocacy Pledge, your first action will be to sign this important advocacy letter calling on the international community and foreign governments not to recognize the results of the pre-determined and illegitimate election in Cambodia, as the United Nations clearly stated.

We highly encourage you to email the suggested officials listed below.

STEP 1: COVER LETTER FOR YOUR EMAIL

Subject: Don't legitimize the Hun Sen regime

Dear [Key Policymaker (suggested addresses are listed below)],

On Saturday, July 15, 2023, at the Khmer Democracy Forum: Where Do We Go From Here? Khmer civil society and the Cambodian diaspora have mobilized advocacy efforts and have pledged a renewed commitment to fighting for democracy, human rights, and meaningful change for Cambodia. Our Khmer community declares that the July 2023 elections are invalid and will not accept the newly formed government nor Hun Sen's illegitimate attempt at a dynastic regime.

Hun Sen's calculated coercive transfer of power will not go unchallenged by the Khmer community.

Sincerely,
[Your name]

PROGRAM AGENDA

PROGRAM BOOKLET

This guide outlines the necessary steps and advocacy actions that we, the Khmer community, need to take in order to create the Cambodia that we envision — a free and just society.

The Khmer community worldwide will convene a hybrid forum to address the crucial question of how do we respond to the results of the manufactured national election in Cambodia that the United Nations has already declared as not free, fair nor legitimate.
